Manchester United’s worldwide Trophy Tour, delivered by DHL, has made another successful visit to India, enabling excited fans in New Delhi and Mumbai to see the Barclays Premier League silverware.
In New Delhi, Dwight Yorke took the league trophy to surprise fans at Airtel’s offices and to the house of a family of Reds, who were stunned to meet the Treble-winning striker.
On Saturday there was an event at the United Megastore in the Saket district of the city. One family made a 400-mile trip in a rental car from the Punjab to be there, even running the last mile because of heavy traffic in the city.
And it was a similar story in Mumbai, where members of the official supporters’ club were among the many fans who came out to greet the United party on the streets. Four Reds from another supporters' club in Goa travelled for 12 hours on a bus to a Megastore event.
Associate partners Chevrolet, Airtel and Apollo also hosted events at which fans and employees got the chance to meet Dwight, win prizes and have photos taken with the famous silverware. Click the image above to see a gallery of photos from India.
After departing Mumbai, United's final stops on this leg of the tour are Dubai on Tuesday and Riyadh on Thursday.
