So it’s no wonder that the turn-out for the New Delhi and Mumbai legs of the club’s Trophy Tour, delivered by DHL, was so impressive.
Kirandeep Kaur Dhaliwal, one of four family members who drove 400 miles from Jalandhar on the India-Pakistan border to meet Dwight Yorke and see the silverware in the capital, was tearful with joy as she came face-to-face with the former Reds striker.
Everywhere the travelling party went in the two Indian cities, they encountered United fans and were greeted by friendly faces, with hundreds attending events at two Megastores.
Three more supporters were stunned when associate partner Airtel organised for Dwight and the trophy to pay them a surprise visit in their home.
