Papers: Scholes still troubled

Scholesy Has Blurred Vision
Paul Scholes is still playing with blurred vision after missing the second half of last season with an eye problem. The Manchester United midfielder has won rave reviews this term ahead of tonight’s Champions League clash against Copenhagen. But United boss Alex Ferguson revealed: “There is a slight haziness in the central part of one eye. We have worked on the situation to try to minimise it. I think there is no problem with the actual vision in terms of being able to play football.” Scholes, 31, was plagued with double vision in his right eye after suffering a blow to the head against Birmingham at St Andrew’s on December 28 last year.

Sir Alex Ferguson confirms to the Daily Mirror that United still intend to make a bid for Owen Hargreaves when the transfer window reopens in January.

A shock name tipped to be on Sir Alex Ferguson's shopping list is Wigan's England U21 left-back Leighton Baines, according to The Times.

Michael Carrick's desire to find his shooting boots and contribute some goals to United's season is quoted across the tabloids.
