Papers: Tevez transfer twist
Manchester United are ready to call in FIFA and the FA to force through their signing of Carlos Tevez.
The Argentina striker has seen his move to Old Trafford from West Ham blocked by the Premier League who insists any fee paid must go straight into the Upton Park coffers.
But lawyers for United, Tevez's owner Kia Joorabchian and West Ham now feel the League are not acting as independent arbiters and want FIFA and the FA, who both rule on transfers, to step in.Duncan Wright, Daily Star
Elsewhere, The Daily Telegraph
report Fiorentina are interested in signing United striker Giuseppi Rossi
. Rossi spent the second half of last season on loan at fellow Italian club Parma, where he played a vital role in keeping the team in Serie A.
The Daily Mirror continue to link Kieran Richardson with a move to Everton, who apparently value the United winger at £3million. The paper claim Richardson has been told he is surplus to requirements at Old Trafford.
Tucked away in The Guardian's transfer column is a line or two suggesting United are closing in on 18-year-old Brazilian midfielder Rodrigo Possebon. He currently plies his trade at Internacional.
