Brown agrees new United deal
Wes Brown has agreed a new four-year deal with Manchester United to end the long-running contract saga which threatened to see him leave Old Trafford for nothing. United insisted they would not budge from their final offer of £40,000-a-week but Brown and his agents were holding out for £50,000-a-week for the versatile defender. However, a compromise has been reached and Brown, 28, has agreed a new four-year deal worth £45,000-a-week.

The Mail report Owen Hargreaves could miss Saturday’s trip to Ewood Park and next week's Champions League semi-final with a hamstring injury. The paper claim Hargreaves felt his right hamstring tighten after the win over Arsenal last weekend. The same paper also claim Nemanja Vidic could be fit to face Rovers, while Darren Fletcher is quoted as saying he’s determined to play a part in the title run-in.
New United ambassador Bryan Robson reportedly had lunch with Sir Alex on Monday and The Sun claim Robbo is impressed with the manager’s drive. “Alex is every bit as focussed, driven and ambitious as he was when he first walked through the door at Old Trafford in 1986. Absolutely nothing has changed on that front.”
