Papers: Boss to visit Ronny

Boss to jet to Euro 2008

Sir Alex Ferguson will fly out to Euro 2008 for face-to-face talks with Cristiano Ronaldo. Fergie will do everything in his power to prevent Ronaldo from turning his back on Old Trafford. Ronaldo's refusal to commit himself to the club has left Manchester United increasingly concerned. And now they are threatening official action against Real Madrid, who are desperate to land the £100million-rated winger. United's concern is such that Fergie is preparing to fly to Geneva next week to speak directly to Ronaldo at Portugal's Euro 2008 training camp. Ronaldo arrives in Switzerland with the Portuguese squad this weekend with Fergie keen to meet the 23-year-old early to ensure he doesn't compromise their build-up to the tournament.

The Mirror also claims Patrice Evra has become a target for AC Milan - who are hoping to take advantage of his contract stand-off with United. Evra has only one year left on his deal and has yet to agree new terms with the Premier League champions.

The Sun reckons Edwin van der Sar is aiming to be at Old Trafford beyond his 40th birthday.

In other news, Sunderland boss Roy Keane is confident of landing United defender Jonny Evans for a third loan spell. Despite having £50million to spend, the Sunderland boss has given up his bid to sign the Northern Ireland centre-back on a permanent deal. But Keane still hopes to persuade his old boss to farm out 20-year-old Evans on loan again to gain further top-flight experience.
