Papers: Reds in for Wilson?

He Wil cost you £8m, Fergie
United will sit down with Wigan next week to thrash out an £8million deal for Wilson Palacios. The Sun revealed last month Sir Alex Ferguson had targeted Honduras ace Palacios and his Latics’ Ecuador team-mate Luis Antonio Valencia. An insider said: “There has been contact between the clubs and Wigan have told United Palacios would cost £8m. Steve Bruce wants to keep him but it’s difficult to stand in the player’s way when United come calling. Valencia may stay at Wigan one more season but nothing’s been decided yet.”

The Daily Mirror claims United will offer Louis Saha - plus cash - to Wigan in a bid for Valencia.

Steve Bruce has more than two million reasons to beat United and deny his old club the title. Bruce knows that victory could give him more cash for transfers to fund his summer rebuilding plans. Wigan can finish 12th if they win and Newcastle lose at Everton — earning £6.4m prize money.

The Daily Mail reckons Chelsea's top players will pocket nearly £600,000 each in bonuses if they win both the league and European Cup. Owner Roman Abramovich will fork out nearly £14.5million in incentives if the team complete the dream double.
