They're kicking Ronaldo out of the game!
Sir Alex Ferguson last night claimed Manchester United’s winger Cristiano Ronaldo is the victim of a systematic campaign to kick him out of European and domestic football. Ferguson saw his United team draw 0-0 at Villarreal last night to reach the last 16 of the Champions League with a game to spare. But it was another rough night for Ronaldo as two Spanish players were booked for challenges on the 23-year-old and another, Joan Capdevila, was sent off for a late lunge that left studmarks on the United player’s knee.

Many of the tabloids carry similar stories, including The Guardian, The Daily Star and The Times.
Meanwhile, The Mirror claim the United boss will lend his support to England's 2018 World Cup bid. John Cross writes: "Andy Anson, who worked with Fergie as United's former commercial director, is planning to call the Old Trafford supremo and is confident of getting his backing."
The Guardian carry comments from the manager's post-match interview, where Sir Alex admitted Wayne Rooney had apologised for diving in an attempt to earn a penalty in the second half.
