Papers: Ronny targets repeat

Ronaldo is aiming for 42-goal encore
Cristiano Ronaldo aims to back up Sir Alex Ferguson’s claim that he can repeat his 42-goal feat of last season. The Manchester United winger has got off to a slow start this term following ankle surgery in the summer, but his two goals in Wednesday’s win over West Ham took his tally to five in 10 games. - Daily Mail

The Sun reports a verbal attack on Sir Alex Ferguson from Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon. The newspaper claims that relations between the world’s biggest clubs are now at a new low.

In other news, The Guardian reports that Sir Alex is unconcerned about United’s failure to set the early pace in the Premier League, believing Dimitar Berbatov will help United push on when it matters. The Guardian agrees that Berbatov's arrival from Tottenham has given the Reds arguably the league's finest selection of forwards. The paper quotes the boss’ belief that United’s attacking threat will make the difference when the season “really hots up.”
