Smells like Keane spirit
Sir Alex Ferguson wants to see Roy Keane’s spirit of Turin from Manchester United tonight. Level at 2-2 after the first leg, his side almost certainly need to win against Porto or go out. Back in the 1998-99 Champions League, United drew their semi-final first leg with Juventus 1-1 at Old Trafford. But inspired by Keane they came from 2-0 down to win the return 3-2 and go on to win the final. “This is a similair situation to the Juventus tie and we have a lot of players who can step up to the plate. We’ve players who can win the game. Winners, match-winners on the big occasion — and that’s really important. These players have to remember where they have been in the past, the performances they have produced, and realise they have a great opportunity.”

The United boss has urged Cristiano Ronaldo to live up to his status as World and European Player of the Year against Porto. "At this stage of the season, with every game so big, you expect your key players to go into overdrive."
Meanwhile, Reds' winger Nani, who grew up supporting Porto, is confident the Reds can win: “Why am I confident? Simple, because we have the best players in the world. Porto are a very good team, but it may be more difficult for them now. When you’re at home you have to go forward more, and that could leave them under pressure."
In other news, Louis Saha has put David Moyes in a sweat before Sunday’s FA Cup semi with United after going down with a virus.
