Nani Faces Uncertain Future
Portuguese winger Nani's long-term future at Manchester United could be cast into doubt if Sir Alex Ferguson proceeds with a bid for Wigan's Antonio Valencia. The Ecuador international has been on Ferguson's radar for some time following a succession of impressive displays since his move to the JJB Stadium, none more so than his dissection of John O'Shea when the sides met at Old Trafford last week. With Real Madrid thought to be keen to bring Valencia to Spain as a £15 million alternative to Cristiano Ronaldo, United could even be forced into action as early as this month, despite Ferguson's long-held reluctance to spend big in January. The good relations between Wigan and United would no doubt smooth the passage of any deal.

There are further transfer rumours, with The Daily Mail claiming United are lining up a bid for Sochaux's 16-year-old French star Yven Moyo.

Ahead of Tuesday's Carling Cup semi-final decider against Derby County, Rams boss Nigel Clough admits: "Even with a 1-0 lead, United are very strong favourites whatever side they put out. It will be deemed a shock if we do get anything there."

Meanwhile, all the tabloids examine Liverpool's draw with Everton - further dropped points since Rafael Benitez aired his outspoken views on Sir Alex Ferguson. Following Tim Cahill's late leveller at Anfield, The Sun labels it: 'Squeaky bum Tim for Rafa."
