Fergie: We have lift-Tov
Sir Alex Ferguson feels Manchester United are just getting better as the title race hots up. Dimitar Berbatov's double kept United top. And Fergie said: "We're coming to good form. The last few weeks we have played some very good stuff and had that consistency, particularly defending. We were solid at the back. These are good signs for us. It's important to get that."
The Guardian paid tribute to United's dominant display against Sunderland, saying: "United are enjoying the view from the top of the Premier League, particularly the sight of Arsenal and Chelsea disappearing in their wing mirrors. Sir Alex's men were far too strong for opponents who will be grateful a one-sided game did not result in an even more harrowing [scoreline]."
The Daily Mail says Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Rene Adler is on Sir Alex's elite shortlist of replacements for Edwin van der Sar. And the 25-year-old apparently insisted on a contract clause which allowed him to move for £20m if United made a bid for him.
The Times praises Anderson's performance in the win over Sunderland, saying he was "as good as any player on the pitch".
