Papers: Serbian delays deal

Vidic to decide future after World Cup
Nemanja Vidic's future at Manchester United has been put into fresh doubt after his agent said the defender had yet to decide whether he wanted to stay at Old Trafford. Real Madrid are the latest club said to be keen on signing the Serb, although Vidic has always played down transfer talk. However, he is now understood to be weighing up his options. "Nemanja has obviously left for the World Cup with Serbia and is concentrating on that," Paolo Fabbri said. “We are waiting for Nemanja to tell us what we he wants to do. I guess it won’t be until after the World Cup he makes a decision on his future. We have requested some time from Manchester United to think about things.”

On the same story, The Daily Mail claim United have already earmarked a replacement for Vidic. It reports Italian club Palermo have confirmed United have made a firm approach for defender Simon Kjaer.

Also in The Daily Mail, Jamie Redknapp gives his backing to Wayne Rooney. He writes : "England have a no.10 in Wayne Rooney who can walk with the giants of the world game."

Meanwhile, Nani is apparently risking the wrath of Sir Alex by staying in South Africa despite being ruled out of the World Cup with a shoulder injury. The Express claim Sir Alex wants the player to return to Manchester to be assessed by United's medical staff.
