Vidic agent rubbishes claims
Nemanja Vidic's agent has rubbished claims the Manchester United skipper is poised to join Juventus. Vidic, 30, has been out of action since suffering cruciate ligament damage in December as United exited the Champions League at the hands of Basel. The United defender is poised to return to training in pre-season and is expected to be fit for the start of the new campaign. Reports in Italy have linked Juventus with a summer move for the former Serbia international, but Vidic’s agent said his client is staying put. Silvano Martina said: “Vidic is still out with a cruciate ligament injury. A future in Italy? You have to consider that he has a non-EU passport, and that would make it difficult for him to arrive in Serie A. I can assure you that I have never spoken with Juventus about Nemanja.”
The Daily Star claims Ji-sung Park is unlikely to be offered a new deal at the end of the season. Jeremy Cross writes: "The South Korean, 31, signed a contract extension last summer that ties him to the champions until the end of next season, but he is set to become surplus to requirements at the end of the campaign."
In other news, plenty of papers claim Rio Ferdinand has decided to put any personal issues to the side and link up with England alongside John Terry at Euro 2012. Terry is due in court after the competition to answer a charge levelled at him for allegedly racially abusing Rio's brother, Anton.
