Ronaldo fails to rule out United move
Manchester United have been tipped to seal a sensational return to Old Trafford for Ronaldo - who has two years left on his contract at the Bernabeu. Spanish sports paper Marca today report that the 28-year-old had tied his future to Real until 2018, increasing his salary to nearly £300,000 per-week. However, Ronaldo has denied such claims having courted speculation linking him with a return to United by admitting he misses English football. “My future? I don't know,” said Ronaldo in a press conference in Los Angeles. “In this moment I'm a player of Madrid [but] in the future I don't know. But at the moment I'm good. The situation still hasn't been resolved and I don't think now is the right time to talk about it. Perhaps we'll be able to give more concrete news about this further down the line but now the only thing in my remit is to train and work.”
The Mirror claims Barcelona president Sandro Rosell is planning clear-the-air talks with Cesc Fabregas to see if he wants to join United. The midfielder’s future is unclear after manager Gerardo Martino said: “I would prefer him to stay with us and I dare say he will, but it's his decision. He is one of the best players in the squad. I think he will stay. But there's a part that he has to decide.”
In the Daily Mail, Arsene Wenger has stated his belief that Fabregas will stay at the Camp Nou for at least one more season. “What I know is that Fabregas will stay one more year at least in Barcelona, that's the information I have,” the Arsenal manager is quoted. “If that changes, I don't know, but I have been told that.”
