Galatasaray abandon Nani chase
Manchester United have rejected a £6million offer for Nani from Turkish club Galatasaray. Winger Nani has a year left on his contract and has been told he can leave United if they receive the right bid. United want around £8.5million for the Portuguese winger, who fell out of favour last season in Sir Alex Ferguson's final campaign in charge. Galatasaray made a firm bid for Nani, but chairman Unal Aysal revealed the club's £6million bid had been rebuffed, with United determined to hold out for more. "We offered seven million Euros (£6million) for him," said Aysal. "But they didn't accept. We can't give more than this. We are not going to follow Nani anymore. We can't give more than seven million Euros for him. They want 10 million Euros (£8.5million). Because of this he is not on our transfer list anymore."
The Robert Lewandowski to United rumour continues in The Sun, who claim the Reds are willing to pay the Borussia Dortmund striker £90,000 a week. However, appearing to pour scorn on such speculation, the Pole has expressed his shock after Dortmund admitted they wouldn’t sell to rivals Bayern Munich: “I do not think that this is the final decision and I expect the situation to change,” he is quoted. “I am enjoying my holiday for now but I hope things move forward pretty soon and the situation changes. I do not get upset about anything.”
Elsewhere, Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has dismissed talk of a move to Old Trafford or England, telling Spanish media outlet Marca: “Of course I'm staying. I'm happy at Real Madrid and I'm not going to leave.”
