New deal for Evra
Patrice Evra will be given a 12-month contract extension by Manchester United. The French left-back’s current deal runs out at the end of next season and he was linked with several clubs last summer. But United want to reward the 31-year-old’s outstanding form this term with a new deal. They are also keen to insert a rolling 12-month annual review to bring him in line with the rest of their 30-somethings. Evra, who has four goals this season, earns around £85,000 a week and the champions-elect do not want him entering the final year of his deal with nothing new in the pipeline.
As expected, every paper is full of articles on tonight's big game with special mentions for Ryan Giggs and Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Sun runs quotes from Nemanja Vidic who says he wouldn't be surprised to see Cristiano back at Old Trafford in the future. “It would be a big ask for many reasons. I would love to see Cristiano here. I could see it," said the skipper. “He is a United supporter. Even though he left he still follows United and still misses the club and the environment here.”
