Opportunities to impress were few and far between for the Brazilian, who made just two appearances. He came off the bench during a 1-0 home defeat to Newcastle before registering 58 minutes of the Capital One Cup quarter final win at Stoke City.
After struggling for competitive action during the first half of the 2013/14 campaign, Anderson completed a loan move to Serie A outfit Fiorentina until the end of the season. He made his debut for the Italian club as a substitute in a 3-3 draw with Genoa.
Anderson’s first full month on loan at Fiorentina was a quiet one, the Brazilian starting just once in addition to a substitute appearance.
The midfielder featured three times in March as his side continued to chase a Champions League spot. He came on as a substitute against Lazio before successive starts against table-toppers Juventus and struggling Chievo.
Anderson’s only involvement in April was as an injury-time substitute against Udinese, when he came on to replace David Pizarro in a 2-1 victory.
