At the time, the 2011/12 season was seen as Evans' greatest in a red shirt. Deputising for the injured Vidic, he made 28 league starts and found some fantastic form through playing regularly. He also broke his goal-duck in United’s 5-0 demolition of Wolves in March.
However, it is perhaps fair to say Jonny enjoyed his most-impressive form during the title-winning 2012/13 campaign, even discovering his scoring boots - he hit the onion bag on four separate occasions.
Admittedly, the form of Ferdinand and Vidic meant he played fewer top-flight
matches than the season before, but theses days the Northern Irishman is ranked on a par with those two defensive titans.
And with five full seasons - and three titles - already under his belt, the next years at the very least should see Evans improve further and reach his peak.
