At the time, the 2011/12 season was seen as Evans' greatest in a red shirt. Deputising for the injured Vidic, he made 28 league starts and found some fantastic form through playing regularly. He also broke his goal-duck in United’s 5-0 demolition of Wolves in March.
However, it is perhaps fair to say Jonny enjoyed his most-impressive form during the title-winning 2012/13 campaign, even discovering his scoring boots – he hit the onion bag on four separate occasions, and his 23 league outings earned him another Premier League medal.
It was a frustrating campaign for both Evans and United in 2013/14. Injuries restricted the Northern Irishman to just 25 appearances in all competitions, though he did manage to find the net twice – against Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League and former club Sunderland in the League Cup.
With six full seasons – and three titles – already under his belt, the next years at the very least should see Evans improve further
