impression in the League Cup semi-final second leg against Sunderland, with a solid display at the back and even getting up the other end to score the opening goal.

February-March 2014
The Northern Ireland international started against Stoke in the first game of February but was forced off injured after only 11 minutes. It was later revealed he had picked up a hamstring strain and he did not play again for the rest of February or March.

April-May 2014
Evans returned to action at the beginning of the month with the Under-21s, playing 65 minutes as Warren Joyce’s side won 3-0 against Aston Villa. He later started for the senior side against Everton but was replaced on the hour by Chicharito as United attempted to claw back a 2-0 deficit. The defender also spoke about his passion for the Reds, saying: “From a young age, I was fanatical about United and I used to cry when the team lost. That's how much it meant as a kid. Now, I feel really privileged to pull on the shirt and go out there and try to make a difference and represent the fans on the pitch.” Injury prohibited Evans’ involvement during May, ruling him out of all three fixtures.
