Frederic Veseli signed from Manchester City on deadline day in January, 2012.
The defender has impressed United scouts for his work at youth level with Switzerland and was offered a deal to move across the city when the Etihad outfit decided to release him.
After his Reserves debut was delayed due to being cup-tied, he first featured as a substitute against Bolton Wanderers for Warren Joyce's side and was also deployed in midfield soon afterwards.
However, his natural position is at centre-back, where he led Switzerland to Under-17 World Cup glory in 2009.
Veseli was included on the DHL pre-season tour as one of five defenders named in a 22-man squad by manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
