Reds fight back at Oxford

Just when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looked set for the first defeat of his fledgling managerial career, his side roared back to secure an impressive draw at Oxford United.

The Reds trailed by two goals after Yemi Odubade had converted a half-cleared corner and Jamie Guy had slotted home after the interval.

However, Danny Drinkwater pulled a goal back with 35 minutes remaining. The midfielder capped an impressive display by embarking on a winding run, then racing into the box to head emphatically home.

Sam Hewson then restored parity with a fine header of his own, latching onto David Gray' right-wing cross with 13 minutes remaining.

United: Devlin, Gray, Derbyshire (Gill 83), Eckersley, Chester, C Evans (James 46), Eikrem (Dudgeon 83), Drinkwater, Macheda (Norwood 58), Hewson, King (Brandao 46).
Subs not used: Johnstone, Strickland.
