John O'Shea will return from a calf injury in Thursday evening's reserve-team clash between United and Bolton.
The Irish defender has been out of action since November's Carling Cup defeat to West Ham, but makes his comeback at Moss Lane in the reserves' first game under the sole charge of Warren Joyce.
Joyce also calls upon Wes Brown, Fabio, Bebe and Gabriel Obertan in an experienced squad, while Josh King and Oliver Norwood return from injuries suffered during their respective loan deals.
United's steady start to the new-look Reserve League format has yielded three wins, three draws and a defeat, but the Reds have games in hand on each of the other four teams in the division and are firmly in the hunt for silverware as Joyce begins his reign.
United squad: Devlin, Jacob; O'Shea, W Brown, Fabio, Dudgeon, Vermijl, Wootton, Fryers, Massacci; C Evans, Norwood, Brady, Bebe; Obertan, King.
Thursday's match, which kicks off at 19:00 GMT, will be shown exclusively live on MUTV from 18:30 GMT.
