Matty James is delighted to be wearing the United shirt again after a frustrating injury-hit campaign.
The talented midfielder had been out since ending his loan spell at Preston but made a successful return in the first half of the reserves' 2-2 draw with Liverpool on Thursday.
With his own impatience possibly getting the better of him earlier in the season, he is still determined to make up for lost time in the next couple of weeks.
"It's massive for me," he told MUTV. "It's great as I've been struggling with a couple of injuries lately. It's been quite a long road for me so I'm glad I can get back here and play.
"It's been a long time since I pulled on a United shirt as well.
"I ended up getting back when I wasn't quite right but I just wanted to get back playing as quickly as I could. I probably wasn't right and it made things a bit worse so I had a little setback with the knee.
"Now I'm on the road to recovery and will hopefully keep playing these games for the rest of the season.
"It's a great time for Matty to be back but it's also important for us as we are thin on the ground player-wise."
