United are in action again on Friday night with Warren Joyce taking a Reds XI to Scunthorpe for another pre-season friendly.
Joyce is expected to have a similar squad to the one involved in Wednesday's win at Market Drayton Town, obviously barring any call-ups to the senior squad for the weekend trip to Oslo to face Valerenga.
Supporters can pay on the gate at Glanford Park and the match against League One opposition should provide a real test of the mettle of some of the youngsters who impressed on the DHL tour as decisions will be made on their immediate future soon - in terms of loan moves, pushing for the first-team or appearing in the Reserves.
Goalkeeper Sam Johnstone is looking forward to the game with particular relish as he spent time on loan with Scunthorpe last season while Brazilian trialists Gladstony and Agnaldo could be involved again. The Iron are likely to hand David Mirfin his first start since rejoining the club but Damien Mozika and Paul Reid are out.
Manager Alan Knill told the club's official website: "It is really good for the supporters to see the stars of the future, because Man United have that tradition of bringing the youngsters through. We went last year to watch them play Shrewsbury. Again, it was a Manchester United XI, but I have to say it was an unbelievable team. They have the best younger players in the country without a doubt. So if you are not seeing the stars of now you are definitely seeing the stars of two or three years' time."
