Wilson lashed an ambitious attempt well wide and Parkinson's deflected drive trickled through to Lindegaard as the second half passed with the hosts still capable of forcing extra-time. Adnan Januzaj replaced Tom Thorpe and made an instant impression, threading passes through to Bebe and Macheda but the forwards could not supply the finishing touch.

The Shrimps barely threatened although Lewis Alessandra had one genuine opportunity to level the scores but could only head wide and receive a knock from Lindegaard in the process. The Dane comfortably kept a clean sheet as United closed things out to record a narrow victory.
