Under-21s on South Coast

United's Under-21s play the penultimate match of the Barclays Premier League Group 2 schedule at Southampton's St Mary's on Monday night.

The match is the first fixture at a Premier League ground for Warren Joyce's side this term and is a crucial one in terms of qualification for the elite phase. The Reds currently sit third in the table, two points behind final opponents Aston Villa, and only a point and a place above the Saints.

Joyce has lost the services of a number of players who have been loaned out to gain experience while Sir Alex may rely on some of the younger members of the squad for Wednesday's Champions League tie against CFR Cluj.

The squad for the match is as follows: Johnstone; Vermijl, Thorpe, Fornasier, McGinty; Cole, Tunnicliffe, Petrucci, Lingard; Macheda, Henriquez. Subs: Joel Pereira, Veseli, Lawrence, Ekangamene, Bebe.
