The Reds' Reserves are relishing a trip to the United States to compete in the Dallas Cup, which gets underway on 1 April.
Warren Joyce will take a side across the Atlantic in order to provide a fresh challenge for many of last season's FA Youth Cup winners, who have successfully made the step up to second-string football.
"We're going to the Dallas Cup in the US," Joyce told Inside United. "There are a lot of good teams going and we felt it would be valuable experience for this group of boys.
"They've been together a while and passed every test they've been hit with. They come good and rise to the challenge and this is another one.
"We'll take them away for a period of time and challenge them against various different styles of football and cultures. Even the travel will be gruelling but it gives them a taste of what the first-team lads have to do.
"It is hard to plan trips - even now I don't know which players I'm going to end up taking. But it's something that we will really look forward to."
