Reserves face Bolton in Cup

United continue the defence of the Manchester Senior Cup with a home game against Bolton on Thursday night.

Wanderers make the short trip to Altrincham's Moss Lane to face Warren Joyce's side after winning at Stockport in the competition last month.

United's last Manchester Senior Cup outing saw Bury beaten 4-1 but the Reds' first scorer that night, Joshua King, has been on international duty with Norway. Robbie Brady and Angelo Henriquez have also been away with their countries but there were still be plenty of options available to Joyce.

Nick Powell features after recovering from the illness that ruled him out of England Under-21 action while Sean McGinty makes his first competitive start of the season at left-back. Adnan Januzaj and Jonny Sutherland return from spells out with a place on the bench.

United: Johnstone; Veseli, M.Keane, Fornasier, McGinty; Cole, Thorpe, Tunnicliffe, Powell, Lingard; Macheda. Subs: Januzaj, Sutherland. (More subs to follow)

Meanwhile, the Reds will meet Morecambe in the Lancashire Senior Cup at the Globe Arena although the date has still to be fixed.
