Good work by Ryan Tunnicliffe and Lingard allowed Cole to scamper down the right and deliver a hanging cross that was crying out for a finish and Powell nodded in a rare headed goal for the former Crewe youngster. United were in full flow and Macheda completed the turnaround following another Cole assist, the top scorer taking a touch to control it before hammering past Fielding and high into the net for his sixth strike of the campaign.

The impressive Cole almost added a third when showing great poise inside a crowded box but his drive clipped the bar as the hosts certainly deserved the victory on the overall balance of play.
