Reserves squad for Stockport

The first of two tough fixtures for Warren Joyce's Manchester United hopefuls takes place at Edgeley Park, Stockport tonight.

Stockport County provide the opposition and the venue in the Manchester Senior Cup after the fixture was switched from being a United home match. With two victories out of two so far this season, cup holders United are aiming to maintain a 100 per cent record in the competition won at Manchester City's Etihad Stadium last term.

Joyce is taking the following squad to Stockport although the team has still to be confirmed:

Jonathan Sutherland, Marnick Vermijl, Scott Wootton, Tyler Blackett, Reece James; Bebe, Nick Powell, Charni Ekangamene, Adnan Januzaj; Federico Macheda, Angelo Henriquez. Subs: Luke Hendrie, Kieran O'Hara, Luke McCullough, Tom Lawrence, Frederic Veseli.

The game kicks off at 19:00 with entry at Edgeley Park priced at £3 for adults and £1 for juniors. MUTV has live coverage from 18:30.

After Stockport, Spurs will present another real challenge on Saturday in the Barclays Under-21 Premier League after going down 2-1 at Moss Lane in the corresponding fixture. The pressure is on the Reds to return from London still unbeaten in the new league. United are currently second in the table with two games in hand on leaders Newcastle.
