U18s: Stoke 0 United 4

United's senior Academy side remain undefeated this season after crushing Stoke City 4-0 on Saturday.

Two goals from Nicky Ajose and one apiece from Chris Curran and Federico Macheda clinched victory against a Stoke side who rarely threatened the Reds' goal.

Ajose opened the scoring when he latched onto Oliver Norwood's clever pass and finished calmly past the advancing goalkeeper. He then made it 2-0 moments later from the edge of the box with a sublime curling shot on the turn.

Curran added a third shortly before half-time when he cut in from the right wing before firing back across goal into the bottom corner. The Reds' fourth came via Italian striker Federico Macheda, who squeezed his shot past the Stoke keeper from a tight angle.

Paul McGuinness' side now have 11 points from five games and will face Crewe Alexandra next on Saturday 4 October.

United: Devlin; Derbyshire, Gill (Strickland 76), Wootton, C.Evans; Norwood (Brown 60), James (Stewart 60), Eikrem, Curran; Ajose, Macheda.
Sub not used: Woods (GK).
