U18s: Boro 1 United 4

United's youngsters recovered from an early setback on Teesside to claim three points with a resounding 4-1 win over Middlesbrough.

The Reds trailed after just seven minutes as Cameron Park fired home a stunning strike via the inside of the post. Nick Ajose quickly hauled United level, keeping his cool to finish after finding himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper.

United completed a telling turnaround in quickfire spell either side of the interval. On the stroke of half-time, Tom Thorpe tapped in from close range from a corner, and five minutes after the break Ravel Morrison fired home to double the Reds' lead.

Amid trying, windy conditions, United blew the hosts away as Ajose fired in a sharp, near-post finish just five minutes later to finish the scoring. It was plain sailing for the Reds thereon, and Paul McGuinness and his players can reflect on a job well done, as well as three more priceless points as United look to hold off the challenge of Everton and West Bromwich Albion at the top of the table.
