U18s: United 3 Norwich 2

United would only have another five minutes to wait before going 2-1 up, with Wilson again involved as he tested Liam Priestley in Norwich's goal with another low drive. The keeper managed to parry but Harrop was on hand to crack home on the rebound.

The Reds' shot-stopper Joel Pereira pulled off a fabulous point-blank save of his own to preserve United's lead, giving Wilson the platform to extend it with eleven minutes remaining by taking the ball round Priestley before firing into an unprotected net.

Morris grabbed his second goal of the game for Norwich with two minutes left on the clock to set-up an exciting climax to an entertaining contest. Nonetheless, United were worthy winners as their start to the Academy League season gathers momentum.

United: J Pereira; Evans, Ioannou, McConnell, Barber; Harrop, Goss, Willock, Redmond; Fletcher (Croskery 73), Wilson.Subs not used: O'Hara (GK), Rashford, Reid, Kehinde.
