U19s taught a lesson

next year.

"The lads have to wise up in Europe. The refereeing is a bit different and the attitude of the foreign players can be difficult. They are clever players and got away with a number of things but the lads really need to learn from that."

With a lack of Under-19 games for the rest of the season, the onus is on the older members of the group to push for promotion to Warren Joyce's Under-21 and Reserves squad due to their ineligibility for Academy football.

"That has to be their aim now," instructed Scholes. "If they want to progress. They have got to start doing well in training every day and impressing Warren and Nicky.

"They need to make sure they get into that Under-21 team and, if they get in, they must make sure they produce."
