Manchester United tackle Real Sociedad in the UEFA Youth League on Wednesday with Saidy Janko available to make his debut.
Nicky Butt has revealed that the recent signing from FC Zurich has received his international clearance and could feature against the much-vaunted Basque youngsters, who top Group A after two victories.
Sam Byrne is also in contention for a place despite being carried off against Shakhtar Donetsk while Paddy McNair returns from suspension. Ashley Fletcher and Josh Harrop, who came off the bench in Ukraine, are also options after continuing to impress for Paul McGuinness' Under-18s.
"Saidy is cleared," confirmed Butt to ManUtd.com. "He is available and in contention. He played against England Under-19s last week on the right-hand side. He's a good talent and we're all excited about him. He has good presence and goes about the game the right way.
"Sam is okay and training again now. We'll just take a look at everybody today and pick the team tomorrow. We've got a big squad now as the younger lads from Paul's group are proving they're more than capable of playing at that level.
"Ashley Fletcher has been doing great and Josh Harrop came on in Donetsk and did really well too. So we've got a good squad and I'm happy with it at the moment. You want people challenging for places and, although one or two are sure to be disappointed at missing out, that's a healthy squad in my opinion.
Sociedad won 5-1 at Bayer Leverkusen in their last outing to suggest they will provide formidable opposition in the first of the double-header between the two clubs.
"Obviously, we're aware they're a good team," admitted Butt. "We've had them watched and saw the DVDs. They're a typical Spanish team, they are not giants but all smallish lads, and they move the ball and manipulate it well.
