Manchester United's Group D fixtures for next month's Dale Farm Milk Cup have been confirmed by the organisers.
The Reds will begin the defence of the trophy, won last year with a late Oliver McBurnie header in the final against Co. Tyrone, by taking on Gold Coast Academy. The Australian side provide the opposition in Coleraine before a Ballymoney date against Co. Armagh.
The third group fixture sees Russian outfit CSKA Moscow tackle Paul McGuinness' youngsters on Wednesday 30 July. The Brandywell Stadium will host the game as Derry City's home ground stages matches for the first time in the competition's 32-year history.
"It's always a nice start to the year and a traditional thing for us," explained McGuinness to ManUtd.com. "What we say is they are following in the footsteps of lots of Manchester United players in the past who have gone on to achieve big things.
"It's a really enjoyable week where the lads come in as first-years and get a real taste for what it's like to be a Manchester United player, competing in front of crowds. A lot of the players who won it last year can come back again so it will be nice for them to attempt to defend the trophy."
