Utility man who was born in Burnley and joined United back in 2002.
The versatile midfielder can also play at full-back and centre-back made his Academy debut against Manchester City in 2012.
He was unlucky not to score when a fine effort came back off the woodwork and he appeared at right-back in the FA Youth Cup quarter-final win over Charlton at Old Trafford.
A tough, tenacious character, he loves to get forward from full-back and showed his passion for the club when converting a penalty in a hostile environment during the shoot-out defeat to hosts Ajax in the
Aegon Future Cup final.
With 10 appearances under his belt (nine as a starter), he was looking to cement a place in the team in 2012/2013 and impressed in the middle of defence with Paul McGuinness short of fit centre-backs. Indeed, his form was so eye-catching that he received a first-ever England call-up, to the Under-18s for a match against Italy, and captained a Reds' Academy XI in a friendly at Loughborough University.
