“How a player is with the public and stuff like that is very important to him. He wants the players to understand that everybody wants a piece of Manchester United. He wants the players to represent the club in the best possible way.
“I was scouted for a long time and even though my move didn’t happen the first time United approached my club, it did happen 12 months later. He came to Denmark on the morning flight, I met him and he spent 15 minutes saying, ‘listen, I’ve seen what I want and I just want you to carry on developing and evolving as you have, and I will come back for you in the summer’.
“I was disappointed when the move didn’t happen at first but he took the time to see me and then flew straight back to Manchester. That is the kind of guy he is. Nothing is ever casual with him. He knows exactly what he wants and where he wants to go. He knew that I would work in the team because he had been looking at me for so long. That’s why he is a great manager.”
