Betting: Tottenham

It’s the FA Cup fourth round and United face a Spurs side who will be cock-a-hoop after reaching the Carling Cup Final this week.

On Sunday, however, United are 4/11 favourites to progress at the first attempt. Tottenham are 13/2 to win and it’s 3/1 for a replay.

The teams have already met this season, when United took all three points thanks to a long-range shot from Nani. If you think the same result could occur this time, I’m offering 40/1 on another 1-0 home win with Nani scoring the only goal.

United’s other Portuguese winger, Cristiano Ronaldo, has now scored in 12 of his last 14 competitive games. He and Wayne Rooney are 100/30 joint favourites to score the first goal and Ronaldo is 5/6 to make it 13 out of 15 by netting at any time in the match.

By the way,  it’s 4/1 that United do the Premier League and FA Cup double this season – 20/1 that they repeat the treble triumph of 1999.
