To ensure this is not an issue supporter travelling to the game are advised to make use of the Park and Ride Service from PrioryPark, Hessle to get to the game.
Full details of the park and ride service are available at the HullPark and Ride website www.hullparkandride.org.uk.
Superintendent Andy Oliver the Humberside Police Match Commander said: “The Boxing day game is a big part of the football calendar for football supporters, however we are keen to ensure no one makes the trip to the game if they don’t have a ticket. If you don’t have a ticket don’t travel to the match as police will be ensuring that no tickets exchange hands from ticket touts.
“I am also keen to ensure that supporter who are travelling do so using the Park and Ride facility in Hessle as this will drop you off close to the stadium and ensure you don’t miss the big game stuck in traffic jams due to the closures on Spring Bank West. It will also ensure that following the game there is little, if any disruption to the normal flow of traffic in and around the stadium”
