United 2 Barcelona 1 | Tour 2011: FedEx Field, Washington DC | 30 July 2011 | Att: 81,807
The Reds' last meeting with Barcelona came in the final match of Tour 2011 in the US with Sir Alex Ferguson's side running out 2-1 winners.
Over 81,000 packed into the stadium in Washington DC to see two of the world's most famous football teams in action just two months after their previous clash in the Champions League final ended in heartbreak for United.
While the Reds' tour victory did not erase the painful memories of Wembley, two fine goals from Nani and Michael Owen - either side of Thiago's sublime top-corner finish - did at least give the United fans in Washington DC something to shout about.
