Some Manchester United fans may have breathed a sigh of relief when Didier Drogba quit English football this summer to link up with Nicolas Anelka in China.

But while the Ivory Coast international - who won the Champions League with his last kick for Chelsea - will no longer be a threat to Sir Alex Ferguson's men in competitive action, he could be a thorn in the side during the Reds' DHL pre-season tour. Drogba and Anelka, after all, play for Shanghai Shenhua - United's opponents on 25 July.

Both strikers have caused problems for Sir Alex's side in the past - as our free video testifies. Anelka netted against United in the colours of Arsenal, Manchester City and Bolton. Drogba scored the extra-time winner in the 2007 FA Cup final, a key goal in the 2010 title race at Old Trafford and also what turned out to be a consolation goal in the 2011 Champions League quarter-final.

However, both men endured a miserable night in Moscow in 2008 as Drogba was sent off and Anelka's spot-kick was saved by Edwin van der Sar en route to the Reds lifting a third European Cup.
