Reds to play in Bangkok

• First stop on the Manchester United Tour 2013, presented by Aon

(NYSE:MANU) Manchester United has announced today it will play a pre-season game in Bangkok as part of the club’s Tour 2013 presented by Aon.

The match will be played on the 13 July at the Rajamangala Stadium and will see United take on the Singha All Star XI.

Singha, United's official beer partner, will be the match sponsor, with the game forming part of the Thai brewer’s 80th anniversary celebrations. The winner of this exciting match will go on to be the first winner of the Singha 80th Anniversary Cup.

United’s first visit to Thailand was in 1975 and the club has returned a further three times for pre-season friendlies. With an absence of 12 years, Sir Alex Ferguson and his full squad are looking forward to returning to the football-enthusiastic country.

Manchester United chief executive David Gill said: "Our visit to Thailand in July plays an important role in the team’s pre-season preparations for the season ahead, as well as enables the club to engage with some of its global fans and commercial partners. There are over 19.5 million Manchester United followers in Thailand and the club has been lucky enough to visit on a number of occasions. The game will be the first match of the Manchester United 2013 Tour, presented by Aon, and we are all looking forward to a great game."

Aon is delighted to be the Presenting Partner of Manchester United’s 2013 Tour, offering its expertise in risk management, insurance, reinsurance brokerage and human resources solutions.

Greg Case, president and chief executive officer of Aon added: "Being chosen by Manchester United as the ‘Presenting Partner’ for its 2013 Tour is further demonstration of the strength of our relationship. This is a tremendous opportunity to demonstrate how our global partnership provides value for our clients, colleagues and communities, and it will show our clients and prospects, particularly in Asia, how the issues we help them with, such as risk management or health care, are equally relevant and important in the world
