It wasn't long before the Reds regrettably announced the cancellation of Sunday's open training session at the Hong Kong Stadium, due to the heavy rainfall that had saturated the pitch over the previous week.
So the Reds enjoyed a session at Kitchee FC's training ground on Sunday morning, before taking part in various media and commercial activities in the afternoon.
Those included a visit to a Nike store in nearby Mong Kok, where thousands of fans lined the streets to greet Tom Cleverley, Patrice Evra and Danny Welbeck, who took part in a Q&A session and played table football on a table created especially for the Reds by Hong Kong artist/sculptor Michael Lau.
Adnan Januzaj and Jesse Lingard attended a UNICEF event with children from deprived backgrounds in Hong Kong, joining in a game of dodgeball to highlight the importance of play and physical activity in the youngsters' development.
Meanwhile, two lucky competition winners got the chance to teach Anderson, Fabio, Phil Jones, Ben Amos and Michael Keane how to write their names in Chinese characters. And in the early evening, Jones joined David Moyes at a press conference to preview Monday night's friendly against Kitchee.
