Video: Robson backs Moyes

Manchester United legend Bryan Robson has no doubt that David Moyes was the right choice to succeed Sir Alex Ferguson in the Old Trafford hotseat.

Moyes is getting to know his squad during the numerous extended training sessions in which the squad have taken part so far during Tour 2013 presented by Aon.

And Robson, who is in the club’s travelling party as an ambassador, has been impressed by what he has seen from the new manager on tour.

"I knew David from when I was a manager and he’s a really solid, down-to-earth person," Robson told "He’s handled himself well so far.

"I think he’ll take everything in his stride at Manchester United. He’s going to be working with some top-class players and I’m sure he’ll do a great job for the club."

Robson does not expect Moyes to make wholesale changes to the Reds’ set-up but pointed out one major difference between United and his former club, Everton.

"At Everton, David more or less played the same first XI every week," Robson added. "But there is more rotation at United and that's something he'll have to take on board."
