In his first trip to Old Trafford, Stuart O'Hara watched one of Scholesy's finest displays...
My favourite Old Trafford memory is my one and only visit to the Theatre of Dreams (so far, anyway).
It was the league match against Fulham on 18 February 2009, which ended in a routine 3-0 win to United. I'm sure it sounds like an average match to many but, to me, it was a lifelong dream come true.
My best friend and I watched as the team arrived to the stadium on the coach, then we went to stand in the Stretford End for the match. We watched Edwin Van Der Sar continue his record breaking run of consecutive clean sheets, cheered loudly as Wayne Rooney returned from injury to net the third goal and looked on in sheer awe as Paul Scholes delivered a masterclass in passing.
His performance was as good as any I've ever seen and all the better as it was right in front of my very eyes. It was topped off with the little genius scoring one of his trademark long range belters.
Now I know why it's called the Theatre of Dreams!
