Amad: Every moment is like a dream
When you have just scored an extra-time winner at the Stretford End to clinch a 4-3 Emirates FA Cup quarter-final win over our fierce rivals Liverpool, you could have forgiven any Manchester United player for being a bit smug.
Amad was anything but.
The 21-year-old Ivorian struck in the 121st minute against the Merseysiders to send Old Trafford into a state of pandemonium.
Winning the ball on the edge of our own box, driving to support Alejandro Garnacho on the counter and finishing clinically, Amad's final action of the match epitomised everything Erik ten Hag wants to see of his players.
After the game, the dynamic winger spoke to MUTV, describing every day in a United shirt - whether on the pitch or at the training ground - as a "dream".
Amad reflects on 'incredible moment'
Amad says it's a dream to play for United, after scoring a last-gasp goal to beat Liverpool...
"I was last season at Sunderland and my dream was to play for Manchester United," he said.
"So I am here to dream every moment.
"Every moment is like a dream. In the training, in the pitch, every year is a friend for me.
"I am very happy to score today."
Amad was introduced in the 85th minute, with United trailing Liverpool 2-1. Two minutes after his introduction, Antony - another substitute - hauled Ten Hag's men level, setting up extra-time.
Even after Harvey Elliott's deflected finish in the first half of extra-time left United on the verge of elimination with just 15 minutes left to play, Amad explained how the expectations of our club are not lost on him.
"For United, every game is a Champions League final," he said.
"Every team wants to beat Manchester United so United need to win every game.
Ten Hag: The future is bright
Erik commended his whole team for their effort in the FA Cup success over Liverpool...
"So if you want to win every game, you need to play like [it is the] Champions League final.
"And I think today we see what Manchester United are doing on the pitch.
"And I think we deserve that win."
