Elanga moves to Nottingham Forest
Manchester United winger Anthony Elanga has joined Nottingham Forest on a permanent basis.
The homegrown Academy product rose through the ranks at the club and earned the Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year award in 2020.
He made his senior debut towards the end of the 2020/21 season, in the Premier League game against Leicester City at Old Trafford. Soon afterwards, he scored his maiden goal for the first team, helping the Reds win 2-1 at Wolverhampton Wanderers on the last day of the term.
The following campaign saw a real breakthrough for the lightning-quick winger, with the highlight being a goal away to Atletico Madrid in the last 16 of the Champions League.
Showing confidence and maturity, he had a really positive impact on the side.
The Sweden international followed it up with 16 appearances across all competitions in 2022/23, including both legs of the Europa League ties with Sevilla, with the away game being his last before this move. The wide man also featured in two 3-0 wins over his new club, in the Premier League and Carabao Cup.
In total, he scored four times in 55 outings for the Reds.
Anthony has been a fine role model and example for other members of the Academy, and leaves with our sincere best wishes for the future, after Forest won the race for his signature, and tied him to a five-year contract.
We would like to thank him for his service at United.
The transfer is for an undisclosed fee and we look forward to welcoming the winger back to Old Trafford, with his new team, on 26 August.
